Serving Within the Walls

The church has been commissioned by Jesus to make disciples for the transformation of the world.

The only way that can be accomplished beyond the walls of the church is by having engaged and active disciples within the walls.

Every person has been gifted by God for one form of service or another. The only questions are where? and doing what?

A conversation with the pastor or other church members will reveal what jobs are open and what needs to be done.

Then you can determine the kind of service that may suit you.

Here are some examples of service opportunities within the walls of Epworth:

  • Sunday School and Bible study teachers
  • Children and youth leaders
  • Administrators
  • Secretaries
  • Maintenance workers to upkeep the building and grounds
  • Outreach workers
  • Altar workers
  • Ushers and greeters
  • Choir members and musicians
  • Audio and video technicians
  • Treasurers and accountants
  • Kitchen workers
  • Nursery workers
  • Gardeners

As we serve within, it’s all about loving others while serving. We can serve the church in many forms, but its the loving that makes it fun instead of a chore, rewarding instead of a burden, and leads the way to God’s kingdom among us.
